About
The game is divided into three separate scenarios, which each play out not quite deterministically but towards the same inevitable outcome (this is conceptually not that different from a "real" game.) PONUS itself is just a nonsense word that came to mind when I first thought of making this.
Each scenario is very short but allows for you to experiment a little bit.
In particular the last scenario has an fairly complex simulation underlying it, it was a bit challenging to tune it so that it did not explode (there is no hard limit anywhere, so without tuning the growth/consume parameters it would expand exponentially.)
I recommend playing it a few times through if you find it interesting the first time. This was fun to present!
Thanks to Yules for helping me out with the sound and with the presentation! And thanks to Laurie Gloge who organized the event (this has to be one of the best-organized GGJs out there) and of course all the other jammers for their awesome work!
See you all next year!
Links etc.
The second half of this YouTube by Laurie shot at GGJ has me rambling about PONUS:
Also...
I also made this ridiculous thing at GGJ. You have been warned.

I hope the bike ride home wasn't too cold. :(
Your game is awesome, all around great meta-game feel to it.
Also in response to the "Woe"
Bwhaha "But it was too late."
Thanks dude! Actually, the bike ride home WAS very cold, in fact I just went downtown and took the train from there since it was a bit closer. Def needed long underwear which I foolishly did not wear.
Stay in touch! We should hang out sometime and make games!!
You missed out on some good food and drinks! Let's get together soon man... still planning to do something this weekend for Room Jam? I'll twitter too...
Grr I don't think I can do the room jam, unfortunately! I only have so many points to spend on these kind of events and I don't want to neglect my family too much-- I already work like crazy!
However: we will surely hang out again soon. Calgary Indies reprazent! It was totally fun jamming with you guys this wkend and also your bickering is amusing to third parties, just so you know. Hahah!
