I am really happy to finally be able to show off my new game The Real Texas in live motion:

Looking good man!

I love the movement style of the game- the bouncing of the player as he walks and the deer jumping from the current map into the next map. It feels like a very enjoyable wink to the player :)

Excited to see some mechanics in motion in future videos!

moves quite amusingly ;p

the regional transitions are pretty jarring right now, though?

Mm, you have a point, actually. I definitely want the game separated into "screens", but how to transition between them is still open. I have a few ideas, one would be to wipe to "sky" (blue, and there are going to be some clouds/etc.) and not wipe the player, instead just move the player smoothly to the new location.

I could also do a "slide" transition ala Zelda 1, with a bit of GL display list trickery.

A bit of work... I shall have to ponder.

Looks awesome man! Haven't talked to you in a while, you should come to #lapan and hang out.
