Millions, upon millions of trees!
hHhhaha I have achieved the impossible, and it looks FANTASTIC.
Still a few problems remain. At least, the calculus errors aren't proving to be too serious, at most it's just creating a little bit of nonuniformity but not any recognizable patterns which is good.
Need to fade to real objects, and then we'll see. Maybe don't need asterisks at all. Need still to have multiple impostors, to account for different view angles, but this is actually not a major thing.
Also, I can do the multiple impostor fade in texture space, which is wierd, I dont' know how fast it'll be to upload a new texture each frame for each ring but I somehow think it won't be that bad. And the interpolation itself I can do very quickly, at least.
